Positive Sportsmanship Reports

The NCJLA is proud to support the principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Through out the season we encourage our members to submit reports that focus on coaches, officials, players and spectators practicing good sportsmanship. Thank you to the following people that demonstrated good sportsmanship and positive coaching techniques learned through PCA these past 2 weeks:

Coach Patrick Hansen, San Ramon Raptors, Girls 12UB Black Head Coach. Coach Hansen invited the opposing team (Scorpions 12B) at the end of the game to share the name of a player they felt demonstrated good sportsmanship. The raptors shared the name of a player they felt demonstrated the same on the scorpions team.

Coach Lexi Lauer, Chico Rebels, Girls High School Head Coach. Coach Lauer encouraged her players from the sideline using positive language and energy! She consistently gave her players focused instructions and encouragement despite the challenging game.

Ryan Cady, Women's Game Umpire: Cady took the time to explain several fouls to the players and coaches during the pre-game warm-up and meeting. He was approachable and worked diligently to cover all areas of the field despite not having a partner umpire for the game. He was professional and took the time to educate the players during the game as well.

Eddie L. #29 Southern Marin B12UA player: Eddie demonstrated good sportsmanship after he committed a foul during a game. Once the foul was called he immediately apologized to his opponent and the official for his actions. He then served his penalty with out protest. After the game he shook the hand of his opponent and the official. Eddie demonstrated good sportsmanship despite his mistake.
